Hi team!
I’ve created a sub domain and uploaded the hole theme from 0 with no external/additional plugins.
I have uploaded around 40 properties. SO after that I wanted to test the search filters, starting with the most broad search query. Now I’m having two issues in the search result.
1. Only few of the properties apprear on the map in the search results.
2. I can get only until 3rd page out of 7 pages of the properties due the search.
I’d appreciate as detailed answer/instructions as possible.
Thank you,
VadHi, looks like it’s a problem with the permalink settings. Can you please go to WordPress admin -> Settings -> Permalinks and set it to default, then reload the page with the problem and check if the problem still exist (try to go to page 4,5,6 and 7).
Then try to set the permalinks again to your custom settings and check if the problem is solved (WordPress will write then the permalink setting again, in 99% of all cases this will solve the problem)Hi!
Thank you for your suggestion. It actually is set to default. So you can see that the search results show several pages 123…7, but once you click on the second page for instance, it still brings you to the first page, same with the rest of the pages, you can check it yourself. After that buttons with pages numbers stop being responsive at all.
I really can’t set up a working website on this theme with this search glitch which I paid money for.
Please help me to resolve this issue. And the second issue that only about 10% of the properties appear on the map in search result.
Looking forward,
VadHi Vad,
there is definitiv a difference between our theme / demo website and your website. Please take a look at the URL, here is our URL:
http://web-rockstars.com/skyline/?stype=research&s=re&captcha&estate_type=-1&estate_kind=-1&estate_country=-1&estate_city=-1&pricemin&pricemax&rooms&bathrooms&bedrooms&paged=2
http://web-rockstars.com/skyline/?stype=research&s=re&captcha&estate_type=-1&estate_kind=-1&estate_country=-1&estate_city=-1&pricemin&pricemax&rooms&bathrooms&bedrooms&paged=3
Here yours:
http://ru.balistyle.villas/?stype=research&s=re&captcha&estate_type=6&estate_kind=-1&estate_country=30&estate_city=-1&pricemin&pricemax&rooms&bathrooms&bedrooms#038;s=re&captcha&estate_type=6&estate_kind=-1&estate_country=30&estate_city=-1&pricemin&pricemax&rooms&bathrooms&bedrooms&paged=2
http://ru.balistyle.villas/?stype=research&s=re&captcha&estate_type=6&estate_kind=-1&estate_country=30&estate_city=-1&pricemin&pricemax&rooms&bathrooms&bedrooms#038;s=re&captcha&estate_type=6&estate_kind=-1&estate_country=30&estate_city=-1&pricemin&pricemax&rooms&bathrooms&bedrooms&paged=3
Most of the URL parameter are doubled, and a “&” sign is replaced with “#038;”, of course that’s not working. Are you sure you don’t use plugins? Have you changed something in the PHP files? What version of WordPress do you use?
Hi!
Thank you for assistance. Actually if we look at the original website (not the sub-domain one), you’ll see that the search result URL’s are exactly the same as in the original demo.
So that’s the broad search result for the category “вилла”
and this page works well,
but once I hit the 3 page of search results button…
It shows exactly the same bug…
I’m using WordPress 4.2.4
We installed our theme again on 4 different server and searched for the problem, but it was working always without any problem, the pagination was always working.
We checked also the default search function on your website with different parameter, and also there is sometimes a problem. It’s also not a problem with the theme, looks like the complete pagination is not working…
It’s hard to say what went wrong without having access to the WordPress installation. Do you think you can send us (info at 7theme . net) a login for your 2 websites? Then we can check the backend for the problem…
Hi!
Thank you, sure, I will send you access.
I will send an email with access from vadobyvado@gmail.com
Appreciate your assistance. I also tried to download a theme again, but the link doesn’t work anymore.
Probably you got an updated version of the Skyline, so that I could reinstall itOk, got the login, we will take a look at it and let you know as soon we found the problem. I’ll check also the version of the theme for you…
thank you,
looking forwardWe downloaded now your content from your test website and installed it on a test server, and also there is the problem. If we use our own demo content, then there is no problem. We have created 1000 posts and the pagination is working without any problem. I saw you used a “non latin” language, also for the slugs of the categories, maybe that’s the problem. We will test it and I’ll let you know as soon we found the problem.
Hi!
Great, your effort is much appreciated! Yes, I used slavic (Russian) language as the theme supposed to be multilingual, so I didn’t expect any problems there.
It’s not a problem with the theme, we used for both (post type and pagination) only WordPress core functions, it’s also not a problem with the theme, looks like there is a problem with the WordPress code itself. Still working on the problem, I think we found it, but we are working still on a workaround
Hmmm ok seems its a deep problem, thank you
Yes, unfortunately it is. But fortunately WordPress is relative flexible and we can use some filter and actions to solve the problem. I hope we get it to work tomorrow
Hi there!
Any update?
