  • Just bought this theme last week. Finally getting around to setting it up, but have have no access to the Theme Options Page. I get an error message that says “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”

Found this possible solution here: http://7theme.net/faqs/error-cant-find-theme-options/

So I checked with the hosting company, who said they do not use a modified installation of WordPress and did some troubleshooting like verifying admin status, disabling plugins, clearing cache, resetting htaccess, etc. I’m still unable to access this page at all. The theme options link isn’t showing up in the WP admin menu either, so in order to attempt to access it, I have to go to “Theme Help”. I can’t even upload a new logo to the site. The theme is beautiful but I can’t do any customization to it at all.

Everything looks good on the hosting end unless I need to modify the theme or WP PHP code somewhere. I’m absolutely stumped here. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Checked with the hosting company

    Hi,

thank you for your post. If you cannot access the theme options page / cannot see the link in the admin menu, then you don’t have the full admin rights. No matter what you hosting provider say, if you cannot see the link, you don’t have the full admin rights.

If you want, you can change the user rights for the theme options page, but for security reasons we highly recommend you to dont do it. Let me know if this is an option for you, than I can send you the file and line number where you can change it. But I recommend you to contact again your hosting provider and set full admin rights for your WordPress account, or to don’t use a one-click installation.

I will try the hosting company again… but also would it be possible to change the theme option page user rights just long enough to customize the theme, and then change it back?

Yes, you can open the file “options-page.php” in the folder “7league/” in the theme folder, go to line 229 and replace “edit_themes” width “delete_posts”, this should work. But don’t forget to change it again as soon you finished your works
