When I try to access appearance>theme options, I get a page that says “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” Can anyone tell me why that is happening? Thanks!
Hi, looks like you don’t have the full admin rights for your WordPress installation. You used one of these “one-click WordPress installations” from your hoster right? Often these installations are modified and you don’t have the full admin rights. Can you please check if you can see this link in your WordPress admin? WP admin -> Appearance -> Edit?
Under “Appearance”, I used to have the selection “theme options” but it is no longer there.
Have you changed something? Installed plugins? Made changes in the PHP files? Changed the hosting provider? Again: can you see and access this page: WP admin -> Appearance -> Editor?
I’m not sure if something was changed because it’s been like this for several months now. I never dealt with it because I didn’t need access to theme options but now I do. To answer your question, Editor doesn’t appear so I can’t access Editor page. Thanks!
That’s what I meant when you cannot see the “Editor” link under “Appearance”, you don’t have the full right for your WordPress installation. The only thing you can do is to ask your hosting provider to give you the full admin rights, then the problem is solved. And never use again these “one-click installations” from your hosting provider!
