    Hi 7Theme Support,

I am having the issue that is in that knowledge base, but it doesn’t seem to be working. I created an API Key, but I can’t find where to put it in the site. Could you please help?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

please take a look at this post here:

Google Maps Shortcode doesn’t work anymore

It is really very important that the API key is valid for the whole domain / website. You don’t have to add the API key anywhere, because Google check if exist a valid key for the domain.

I took my instructions from that post. It still is not working. Here is my website:

    eclipse-boise.com

When creating the key I used:
    *.eclipse-boise.com/*

Should I be using something different?

    Thanks!

Even your link map is showing as not working PLease check the images

No, exactly so it have to work, and normally it works without any problem. Hard to say what went wrong without having access to the Google Account. Sorry for that, but it’s not the fault of the shortcode. unfortunately the Google Maps API is very “sensitive”…

Why don’t you use the iframe code from the Google Maps website? Just visit Google Maps, left hand burger menu -> Share and Embed.

@sonanfinity What do you mean with “your link map is showing as not working”?

I have ran the error in chrome dev tools. It looks like the google API is being called more than once:

    js?sensor=false:93
You have included the Google Maps API multiple times on this page. This may cause unexpected errors.

    Mg @ js?sensor=false:93
    (anonymous function) @ js?sensor=false:126
    google.maps.Load @ js?sensor=false:18
    (anonymous function) @ js?sensor=false:126
    (anonymous function) @ js?sensor=false:127

    js?sensor=false:34
Google Maps API error: MissingKeyMapError https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#missing-key-map-error
    _.kb @ js?sensor=false:34
    (anonymous function) @ common.js:50
    (anonymous function) @ common.js:199
    c @ common.js:44
    (anonymous function) @ AuthenticationService.Authenticate?1shttp%3A%2F%2Feclipse-boise.com%2Fcontact-us%2F&callback=_xdc_.…:1

What should I do here? When importing the front page, it was unsuccessful and I had to do it 3 times which ended in the footer being replicated 3 times. I’m curious if that has something to do with it?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

ah, ok, I think that’s the problem, because you cannot use more Maps than one on each page. Please check the content of the page with the error message and also the widgets in the footer, WP admin -> Appearance -> Widgets -> Footer 3

So, after switching the theme to another theme, and then back: I find that I only have the following console error:

    js?sensor=false:34 Google Maps API error:
    MissingKeyMapError https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#missing-key-map-error
    _.kb @ js?sensor=false:34
jquery.cycle.js:22 [cycle] terminating; zero elements found by selector

    What should I do now?

    Hi,

please check again your API key. We used our Google Account to check if there is a problem, set up a API key for your domain and it’s working without any problem, see screenshot:

Please make sure you make exactly what we describted in our tutorial (see link above)!
