  • Dear,

    Background Image > Background Fix not working in IOS (is on)

    With normal MacBook no problem, all works
    With Android phone all works

    On iPhone (tested with 3 different, one never visited the site before) the background is in the middel of the page.
    Site: alteastel.com

    please help,

    Amanda.

    Hi Amanda,

    we tried it, on our end everything is working fine. What iPhone exactly have you used to test it?

    Iphone 11 Pro
    Iphone 8
    Iphone 7
    Iphone 6s max

    All on iso 15.6

    Tested on:
    Safari
    Chrome
    Firefox
    Opera

    Also deleted all cookies, cache and files.

    Please see the 2 screen prints.
    15 – is the top of the page, the background is pink (#ff0073) it has to have the background image https://cdn.alteastel.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/03210254/themebg.jpeg
    16 – is the middel of the page, you will see the background img there.

    Do you already have an solution?
    TO make the site a bit presentable on a iPhone….. i put the Background-Repeat on ALL.
    Now on a iPhone the background is constantly on top off the other, at all other devices it’s still only one fixed.

    Y-Axis & X-Axis is still on CENTER.
    Background Fix is still checked on.

    Ok, we tried it with different devices, it was working fine on our end. We tried any Apple device with Google Chrome inspector tools and mozilla inspector tools, also working fine. I’m not sure why it’s not working on your end, but I have a hunch. Can you please add this CSS code in WP admin -> Appearance -> Theme Options -> General -> Extra CSS Content:

    body {
    background-size: cover !important;
    }

    After this, please delete your browser cache and try it again. Please let me know if it was working or not. Thank you.

    No, did not work.

    Its a know issue for years already.

    Please look at https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/99883 and go from there.

    Oh, ok, that’s new to me, never heard before from this! We don’t use Apple products, we only have an older iPhone here to test it, for all other tests we use Google Chrome developer tools, normally this works correctly, in this case, unfortunately not.

    Ok, when the background fix in IOS is not working, what do you want to do? Hide the background image? Or show it on top of the page, and let it scroll with the page?
