Hi,

I think the problem is that your server is too slow, in this case the importer stops before all content is loaded. If this is the problem, you have to repeat it until WordPress says “All done!” on the importer page.

You don’t need plugins for it (of course the importer plugin), all you can see in the demo was made without plugins, only theme features.
