How to you try to install the update? You cannot upload it in WordPress, you have to upload it via FTP and overwrite the existing files.
If I’m using this shortcode: [person_grid category=”hostess”] I only get 1 person and not all that are in that category?
No, it will show you all persons from the category. Does it work? Or not?
